ABOUT DELANEY'S MUSIC STUDIO

Delaney is a local musician of Waterloo and has been teaching independently for over four years.

DMS offers one-on-one lessons for voice, violin, and music theory for

beginner and intermediate levels for all ages 7+.

Weekly lessons are recommended ranging from 30 minutes to an hour based on a student's level and experience. Lessons occur in person at Delaney's home in Waterloo, or virtually.

Curricula are curated for each student's goals, levels and progress for a personal teaching experience and maximum satisfaction. Delaney's classically trained background offers techniques that can be applied to all styles of music (pop, music theatre, etc).

No locked-in or prepaid terms!

Scheduling is flexible and invoiced monthly based on the services for that period.

A trial lesson is recommended as a chance to meet with students and parents before beginning regular lessons. Lessons are a two-way street and everyone should meet to feel comfortable and familiar. This also is an opportunity to gauge a student's level and understand their experience before diving in!

BIO

Music has always been a passion of mine. I think it is one of the best ways to express yourself, connect with others, and build confidence.

Growing up, I loved being in music ensembles and performing.

Throughout every level of education, I was always a part of numerous award-winning choirs, orchestras, and chamber ensembles. I have been playing violin since 2012 and completed the strings program in high school, and became a Peer Music Tutor. For numerous ensembles and classes, I evaluated techniques, led group ensemble work, and helped players complete their course objectives at the age of 15. Teaching has been a passion of mine for a long time.

I work as a freelance singer and sing with several professional and community choirs and companies. I also perform in opera and music theatre productions, performing recent roles of The Baker's Wife in Into the Woods and starring as Jo March in the operatic adaptation of Little Women. For more information on my singing, you can visit my website here.

Currently, I am pursuing my Master's of Music in Opera Performance at the University of Toronto. I always knew I wanted to study higher education in music, and I chose Laurier for my Undergraduate degree and Opera Diploma for its well-renowned and accomplished program. I continue to play violin professionally as a part of my wedding and event strings duo, Spiccata Strings where we play for events in Southwestern Ontario.

I am flexible, friendly, easy-going, and patient.

I am so excited to connect!
